Category Descriptions on Main Page

I would like to list only all my category descriptions on the main page, not individual products. I'm selling tickets to multiple events (my categories) and my products are the different tickets to each event.

I am using the latest release of Zencart.

Thanks for the help,

Tom

Re: Category Descriptions on Main Page

Welcome to Zen Cart Tom,

Go into the back end/admin of your site

Configuration > Layout Settings >
Categories - Always Show on Main Page >Set this value to 1

The Tutorials FAQ is a great place to start your journey, you can find much of what you need here:

Re: Category Descriptions on Main Page

We'll need a little more info, and a link to your site would help. What exactly do you want to show, and where?

Re: Category Descriptions on Main Page

Thanks for the replies. Heree's the url http://www.fearlessfamilyevents.com/zencart/

If you go to any of the categories, i.e American Girl, you wll see a description of the category and then the individula products (tickets). I would like to show all five category descriptions (Americal Girl, Fearless Family Portraits,...) on the main page. The shopping cart is embedded in the main site using frames, so I don't want any side columns.

Thanks,

Tom
