Image Handler 2 - restricted to it once installed?

I recently installed EZ Populate 1.2.5.4 on my zen cart of 1.3.8a. I like it but Im trying to bring in a large number of pictures.

I dont understand, I have a product 100-2345 and I ftp an image 100-2345.jpg to the images directory. But it doesnt appear to show on my store.

But if I go through Image Handler 2, which I have also installed, and upload a pic for that product, then it appears. Does anyone have any ideas why I cant do a mass upload of images with ftp?

Naming an image the same as your product does nothing. The image must be explicitly associated with the product, either by IH2 or the standard admin upload/selection procedure, for it to show up in the product listing etc. EasyPopulate may also work to associate the image correctly (I don't use it so can't say for sure.)

You can do a mass upload, as long as you then select each image for its product - this may be much faster than browsing to each image individually.

Ah yes, I see now. It looks like if I place the name of the image in the ez populate file it gets assigned, then I can dump the files over faster. Sometimes the simplest of things can cause hours of confusion.
