Free Shipping not free with price based table-rates

Hi folks,

First time poster, so I suspect I'm doing something wrong.

I've got items that have free shipping, and when purchased shipping is indeed free. I've recently added table-rate charging on shipping based on price which also works fine for the most part.

However, I've noticed that when someone purchases free shipping items along side standard items the price of the free shipping items is included in the calculation of the shipping price. Is this what is expected to happen, and is their a way or ensuring free shipping items don't get included in the shipping calculation?

I could use table-rate using weight and set all free shipping items to zero lbs in weight to get around the problem, but thought I'd try for a fix before I reach for the work-arounds.

If the Product is marked as Always Free Shipping, meaning Free Shipping for Everyone ... or marked as 0 weight, where 0 weight is set to mean Free Shipping ... then the Product is Free shipping ...

The shipping methods that come with Zen Cart recognize these things and should not allow them to affect the shipping price on other products ...

How are you configuring the Free shipping Products to be Free Shipping?

What shipping modules are you using?

How are you configuring the regular Products that are shipped to be set up for shipping?

Are you shipping by weight, price or item count?

Note: the 0 weight meaning Free Shipping is for when only Products of 0 weight are in the Order and you need the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping module installed ...

If you want a Product to be Free Shipping when shipping based on Price or Item Count, mark the Product as Always Free Shipping ...
