Can't add margin to category-top in nav area.

I'm trying to add some space between the menu items on the left on

http://hood-river-jewelers.com/store/

<a class="category-top" href="http://hood-river-jewelers.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=22">Necklaces & Pendants-></a>

That's the HTML of the menu item.

.category-subs-parent, .category-top {font-weight:bold; font-size:14px; margin-top:20px;}

That's the css I've added to the end of stylesheet.css

But no matter what I do, I can't get the menu items to space apart.

I know I'm missing something very simple, but I have no clue what.

Love this css stuff. Hate this css stuff.

Thanks,

Re: Can't add margin to category-top in nav area.

The category links are inline <a> elements, and do not accept margin-top or the like. You can use line-height: 1.5em; or whatever value you want, but that will apply equally to multi-line links and separate categories, so you can't make spacing distinctions in

Bracelets-> (2)
Colored Stones
& Pearls-> (4)
Designer
Collections
Diamond
Jewelry-> (54)
Earrings-> (11)

Categories Dressing makes the links into list items, so you can apply any styling you like to them.

Okay, I must admit the Category48 graphics and formatting gave me quite a shock, but once I commented it out in the definitions, and got rid of all the background colors, it looks much better. Thanks for a great add on.
