Subcategories not showing in center

I want to add a new page which would show the categories with images and ppl can click on to explore the products

You can have this on your homepage by setting Configuration > Layout Settings >
Categories - Always show on Main Page ->set to 1
and
Main Page - opens with ->set to 0

If you have a problem, post a link to your site so we can see what you have.

Thanks for your response but i really do want to open up a seperate page to show the categories with images.

Make a link with the address
<a href="index.php?main_page=index&cPath=0">

This will go to a standard category listing page (not the homepage) with a listing of all the top categories.

i thought the same but that doesnt work......it show page with nothing in it.

i think there has been some modification in my template index file....can you tell me what i might be missing in my template index file....as i did try to show on my homepage ...it doesnt work on homepage either.

i doubted right it was my template category index file...had missing codes...its all done.....
