buy now vs add to cart

Can I choose between the "buy now" and the "Qty: 0" add to cart methods by category?

For instance, Id like category A to have a buy now button under each product, but another category B I want the quantity and the add to cart at the top and bottom of the category page.

How do I control this by category?

You would need to customize the use for the settings of:
PRODUCT_LIST_PRICE_BUY_NOW
PRODUCT_LISTING_MULTIPLE_ADD_TO_CART

and tie in the categories_id to this ... using the $current_category_id would probably help you in determining which specific categories_id you are on as the listing is being displayed ...

While it will take quite a bit of customization, it can be done ... have you got your coder's hat on? :smartalec:
