National shipping, 2 area. How to set up please

Hello.
I am using the latest version of Zen cart.
I sell retail and ship within my own country only, New Zealand.

New Zealand has 2 Islands, a North and a South island.
I would like to create a way to send items based on weight to calculate to these 2 areas, as both areas charge different amounts by our courier service.

#1 North Island

#2 South Island

At the moment I just have flate rates depending on weight, so if you are close to us, you still pay the same as someone further away..... which does not seem fair.

Please help. I set the web site up a long time ago and have forgotten most of the code etc etc...

Re: National shipping, 2 area. How to set up please

Go to the Localization/Taxes ... Zones ...

Click INSERT ...

Zones Name: North Island
Zones Code: NZ
Country: New Zealand

Zones Name: South Island
Zones Code: NZ
Country: New Zealand

Now go make your separate Shipping Zones for these in the:
Localization/Taxes ... Zone Definitions ...

Click INSERT ...

Zone Name: NZ North
Description: New Zealand North Island
Click INSERT

Click DETAILS ...

Click INSERT ...

Country: New Zealand
Zone: North Island
Click INSERT

Click BACK ...

Click INSERT ...

Zone Name: NZ South
Description: New Zealand South Island
Click INSERT

Click DETAILS ...

Click INSERT ...

Country: New Zealand
Zone: South Island
Click INSERT

Now make your shipping modules and add the Zones as needed ...

If Tables work well for you, go to the Free Software Add Ons and get the Zone Table add on ... it is easier than trying to clone Table Rate table shipping module ...
