Time listed in the cart for orders

I have tried searching this forum to see if it has been answered before, but nothing comes up as far as I can tell. So, sorry if this has been asked/answered before.

In the cart Admin ... the time stamp listed for orders, etc ... is 5 hours off. The client is in California, so they would like the times listed to be in their time zone.

I can not readily see where I can adjust this.

I know it is not set for the server time ... we own the server and it is in Texas (Central time zone).

Check out the time zone offset contribution (available in the free software add ons section)

Thanks for the heads-up about the addon ... however, it says that is for the situation of when your store is not in the same time zone as your server ....

As I mentioned above ... that is the case ... the client is in PST and the server is in CST ... that's only a 2 hr difference ... the problem we're having is that the time is off by 5 hours ... in fact, it's showing 000 GMT time.

So what is causing such a big time difference?

Ask your host - they set the server time and just because they are located in CST doesn't mean they set the server to it.

Like I said in the original post, we own the server ... and it is set for CST. That is why we are so confused as to why it is showing 0000 GMT time in the Zencart Admin. :wacko:

If you "own the server" set it to your local time. Problem solved.

If you "rent" the server or have it managed by a data centre then they will have it set to whatever time zone they prefer.

In that case use the Time Zone Offset mod to fix the problem.
