Checkout without creating account?

Has the latest version of Zencart been modified to allow checkout without creating an account? I can't find the info pertaining specifically to that.

No it has not been modified to have this feature. There is a mod called fast end easy checkout. However, when i tried this few month ago, i realised after a few weeks that no welcome email were sent out, which was caused by this addon. Feel free to try it yourself and see if the bug has been fixed.

That's actually intentional, since the welcome email which is traditionally sent out is heavily associated with new accounts.

If you (or anyone else) just want guest checkout and not one-page checkout (which Fast and Easy Checkout is more focused towards), I suggest you try the COWOA (Checkout Without Account) mod, found in the Wiki.

Guest checkout is planned as core for the version after Zen Cart 2.0, previously referred to as v1.5.
