Add Company icon to ie tabs

I want to add my company logo to the tabs/windows that are displayed in ie. I have IE8 and I would like to replace the Microsoft Explorer Icon with my company Icon. Like Zencart has on their website.

repalce the icon.ico file with yours

Where is that file located? Do I have to rename my file to that filename/overwrite it? Thanks

Thank you for the tutorial.. tried both methods and neither worked. What am I missing?

Looks like I got it to work, seems to take awhile to propagate.
