Editing defines Page Editor

I have gone through a ishop/includes/languages/english/html_includes set all permissions to 777, so that I can edit my main page, however when I go into Zencart admin I am still not able to access the drop down which would allow me to select the desired page.

Please help I done all I have been told to do.

Most Zen Cart files cannot be edited from the admin. You need to have a copy of the file on your computer and a good text editor like Notepad++ or Crimson Editor and an FTP client like FileZilla to move the files between your server and your computer.

My problem is I have changed the permissions and no change has happened in admin , I cannot access my the define pages in admin after I have changed these permissions to 777. I would like to add some terms and conditions, and cannot do this.

What do you see in admin>tools>define pages editor?

I see the drop down that says "select a file to edit", however I can't access any of the information in the drop down, I have checked my permissions again and they appear to be correct. Where else do I need to look when all of the obvious has already been done?

I am still having an issue with being able to access the drop down in the defines page editor in Admin tools, I have set the permissions to 777 in the includes/languages/english/html_includes and nothing is happening. I really need to be able to access the "Contact us", Conditions"

I don't know where to go now, I have tried almost everything, can someone please help!
