category / product layout help needed

When my category gets clicked, then the products show 10 at a time, on hand quantity doesn't show. I must have some discrepency in my admin>>configuration>>product listing>>Display Product Quantity
PHP works server side so that it can't check the input of the box until the page is submitted.
The box is checked, but there must be something wrong with my code then. I went to

and downloaded WinMerge. After running and investigating, I STILL can't come up with why on hand won't show in the main product display. It shows in the cart though.

Does anyone have any idea of which PHP page I could possibly try to dig around, or have hopefully an easier solution?? Thanks a bunch!

It sounds like you're talking about two different "quantity" elements.

Quantity in stock display is set in Configuration > Product Listing >Display Product Quantity; the quantity input box is for the quantity the customer wants, and its display is influenced by these settings:
Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on; 2=on with Qty Box per Product)
Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status and Set Button Location
