Adding a third categorie ( non linkable )

i have searched the forum, tried everything i thought would work. ( including all the info i did found )

But it is not working/solving my problem.

At this time i have 2 categories in my sideboxe category
http://www.fengfritfactory.com

the first one named Our Blends he second named Our Products

But i need a third named Our Murrini

I am already using the product-general and Document-general so i am clueless on how to get this done.

I tried the Category dressign but that did not work for me, for what i could see and tried.

Please please please is there anybody who could help me.

I was thinking about a possibility to clone the document-general in a similar way as i did with the shipping zone.

But i am not sure if this will work and how to do it.

Thanks
Chrissy

Re: Adding a third categorie ( non linkable )

Perhaps you could expand on what you are accomplishing by using the multiple Category Product Types so we can better suggest what method to use here ...

Are these Products suppose to be able to be Purchased or do you want another Categories sidebox or what is the ultimate goal?

Categories Dressing will easily do what you want. If you have problems getting it to work, ask for help in the support thread.

Re: Adding a third categorie ( non linkable )

I am not sure the best route for you ...

The two Product Types for Product General and Document General are designed for an easy separation on the two sideboxes ...

The separation works well as one set of Products is for purchasing and another is used for information ...

The Categories Dressing suggested by gjh42 is handy to break the Categories into groups, even when all Products are the same product type, without the need for making new product types ...

I do not have a site that uses it but perhaps someone who does can help you out with setting this up ...

Re: Adding a third categorie ( non linkable )

Your screenshot comments answered the one limitation Categories Dressing might have for your situation: the new/all products links have to stay below the last box group unless some "creative" styling is applied. Putting all the categories back in the main categories box and breaking it into three groups will give exactly the result you asked for.

If the categories layout when you first installed it scared you, that would be the demo styling showing. The readme has directions for turning off anything you don't want.

Re: Adding a third categorie ( non linkable )

gjh42, well it needs to be under the last box. but now with the document general and product general it is in the middle of the categories.

OK, i will install the category dressing again today. Can i please drop you a PM if i can't figure out how to chaneg it?

o and 1 more question about the category dressing.
I want to have all the sub categories showing all the time. so i need to instal both files right?

Thank you both!!

Just post in the support thread (link in post #3). It is easier to discuss things there.
For all subcats, you do need the uncollapsed categories tree also.
