how to adjust center column width?

Hi, the center column on my front page doesn't seem to be going to 100%.

Here is an example:

As you can see, there is a large white space on two side.I have tried forcing it to 100% within the stylesheet.css file:

..to no avail. I've disabled all right columns in my site. I'm sure that I'm missing something simple or there is something overriding my settings. Please help.

The problem is that the left column container (#navColumnOne) is taking up too much width. What is really strange is that there is no property in that or its content (#navColumnOneWrapper) that would force it to expand beyond its specified 178px.

If you are talking about the overall site width, #contentMainWrapper is enclosed in #mainWrapper, inside .dc, inside .dr, inside .dt.main ; any one of those could be limiting the width.

I've disabled all right columns in my site.

You may have turned off right sideboxes, but your right column is still active. Turn it off in Configuration > Layout Settings > Column Right - Status.

This rule has two errors that will prevent it from working:```

You don't actually want #navColumnOneWrapper to be 378px wide; I just noticed that that rule was written wrong.
The fundamental problem is that the center column is set in the template code to be 378px wide when there is no real reason to give it any specific width. View source shows this```html

I am not sure whether TM makes their templates hard for others to modify just from stupidity, or if they planned it so that customers would have to come back to them for modifications.

It looks like a standard TM product listing layout to me (in Firefox). What browser are you using? And how do you want the display to look?
TM has customized that too, and I don't know how hard it will be to change.

I've never heard of Maxthon, and don't know what quirks it might have with HTML/CSS rendering. I don't have IE8 so can't comment on that - hopefully someone else can.
You do have a problem in Firefox with the center crowding and overlapping with sideboxes, so you must have some styling or template errors.

I see thumbnails in your product listing pages... don't know where else you were expecting them. Your site does take forever to load, at least partly due to the fact that the thumbnails are just the full size images displayed small, and average 100k in filesize (about 30 times the size they should be). Read the tutorial on images for info on creating proper-sized thumbnail images.
