Email groups based on item purchase

We sell entries to events, and so for each event we want to be able to communicate with everyone who purchased that event.

I want to send an email to everyone who purchased a specific item, as often as I need to communicate with them.

Is there a way to have Zen Cart do that, or a module available to do it?

By adding the appropriate SQL to a new record in the query_builder table, you'll have a new email group to select from the available pulldowns, either for emailing from within your store, or for exporting using the Email Address Exporter addon.
