D.o.B Format 07/04/** - possible?

Hi All

I have created a site for a friend, and he said he had difficulty creating an account with the D.o.B 07/04/**** format .

is there a way to change it so it only required the 2 digits for the year? 07/04/76 for example?

i've been trying a few things but I am new to zen cart and i am still a bit worried about screwing it up! i believe there are a few files which you need to change . admin files included?
cheers!
