Cart number of items and dollar amount in header

Hello, I wanted to add the total items and amount in text from my shopping cart. I wanted to add this to my tagline in my header. What would I add to my common/tpl_header.php to acomplish this?

I wanted it to look like 0 item(s) - $0.00
