Change the link of the catagory

I have looked for an answer to this and can not find one.

I need to change the link of one of my catagories.

how can this be done?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean rename the category?
That can easily be done by going to your admin panel and editing your products/categories.

I need to change the link of the catagory to go to my distributors site with my account so when customers click on it the destination is to their website where they can order and the orders will be credited to us

So in my site

in the right sidebox the catagory for
patterns hoffman
needs to link to

I see what you mean.
I don't think this can be done with the normal Zen Cart categories, however you could do it this way instead -

Place your categories on your 'define' main page, and link them from there. This way you bypass the whole Zen Cart system, which seems to be what you are wanting to achieve, I think?

That's a tricky one.
Perhaps you could experiment using ezpages and chapters?

looking at the html coding for the main page - It would seem that a change in href code would work???
HOWEVER would this also change some other workings of the cart and where are the html code located?

You would have to add some custom code to tpl_categories.php to "trap" the output of that category and replace it with your link.

If you use Categories Dressing, you can add a "heading" in a particular location which will look like the rest of the categories and have a link to your distributor. All you will need to know is the HTML for the link.

When you create your category put this line of code in the description.
<meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.The Site You WANT YO LINK TO"/>
