Free UK shipping - Worldwide flat rate

Hi

I'm trying to find the best way of setting free delivery for all customers who purchase within the UK but I also want to charge a flat fee if the customer lives anywhere outside of the UK. I would prefer it if invalid shipping options were not shown to the customer so that customers outside of the UK cannot select free shipping when it doesn't apply to them.

Hope this makes sense.

If the shop is in the UK, then go to the Modules ... Order Total ... Shipping ot_shipping and set the Free Shipping on Orders >= 0 and set to National ...

Create a Zone Definition that includes all countries except the UK ...

Then, install the Flat Rate flat shipping module and set the Zone to this new Zone Definition ...

Thanks for that. It makes perfect sense however is there a quick way of adding all of the Countries to a shipping zone ?

Ignore me I've just spotted the All Countries option

Okay now I have no way of removing the UK from the all Countries zone so I'm stuck again.

Backup your database before running this ...

You can run this in either the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ... or in phpMyAdmin ...

INSERT INTO geo_zones (geo_zone_id, geo_zone_name, geo_zone_description, last_modified, date_added)
VALUES (35, 'International', 'All Countries Except United Kingdom', NULL, CURDATE());

INSERT INTO zones_to_geo_zones (zone_country_id, zone_id, geo_zone_id, date_added)
SELECT countries_id , 0, 35, CURDATE()
FROM countries
WHERE countries_iso_code_3 NOT IN ('GBR');

That worked a treat.
