Most basic of questions

Hi,

Is there a faq for us real dummies? Looking at the faq so far, I cannot tell things like: must I have a CC merchant acount to use with ZC?; does it collect customer info so I can build a mailing list?; what kind of followup emails, if any, does it provide?

Anyplace on the forums or otherwise where I can get a layman's overview? I provide services, not products, so my needs will be pretty simple...no taxes or shipping to collect, etc.

Only if you want to accept credit cards for payment.

If the customer registers on your site they are added to the very basic mailing program in the core. If you are wanting to use another mailing program there are some add ons to collect addresses and add them to Constant Contact or MailChimp.
