Re: Free shipping - please help

First ... let's look at Free Shipping Options freeoptions:

You have everything set for IF Price >= 0 and IF Price <= 0 and IF Weight is >= 0 and Weight <= 0 and IF Count is >= 0 and IF Count <= 0 ... show the Free Shipping Options freeoptions ... :unsure:

Is that what you really mean?

Or, do you want something like, for example if I wanted this to show when the Total Price >= 0 I would have:

Enable Free Options Shipping
True

Shipping Cost
0.00

Handling Fee
0

Total >=
0.00

Total <=

Weight >=

Weight <=

Item Count >=

Item Count <=

Tax Class
--none--

Tax Basis
Shipping

Shipping Zone
--none--

Sort Order
0

Notice the "blanks" vs the 0 settings on everything except what I want ...

Yes, I've changed the setting to:

Weight >=
0

Weight <=
"blank"

And the zone to United kingdom

Re: Free shipping - please help

I've noticed the module doesn't like the zone. It deactivates the module and a yellow dot appears.

Re: Free shipping - please help

The Zone on Free Shipping Options freeoptions means:

1 the yellow dot is showing, you have a Zone set

2 if you have Weight >= 0 and all others blank then it will ALWAYS show for the Zone that you have set, no matter what ...

Are you trying to use the Free Shipping Options freeoptions for the Free Shipping to the UK?

Because right now, this will make Free Shipping Options freeoptions ALWAYS show to the UK when the weight is >= 0 which more or less means, ALWAYS be available to the UK regardless of what is in the cart ...

Re: Free shipping - please help

So should I disable this module altogether and sort it through another method?

Because at the moment both the free shipping options freeoptions and my zone (GB= 50:0.00) are returning free shipping for all products to UK.

Re: Free shipping - please help

On Zones ...

You have GB, GI, GG

I get United Kingdom - GB

I get Gibraltar - GI

But who is GG ...

Zone 1:
50:0.00

means up to 50 lbs is 0.00 and over 50 lbs is 0.00 because nothing is defined ... so that is saying GB, GI and whoever GG is will ALWAYS show 0.00 for shipping on the Zone Rate ...

Then on the other Zones, such as Zone 2 you have are also doing this by weight:
Zone 2 Shipping Table
0:0.00,0.19:1.95,0.3:2.45,0.5:3.95,0.75:4.95,1:6.95,1.25:7.95,1.5:8.95,2:9.95,50:10.95

You break down all these rates up to 2 pounds then jump to 50 pounds is 10.95 ...

Is that what you mean?

As to the Free Shipping Options freeoptions if you are just using this in searching for ways to get 0.00 shipping for the UK for products marked as Always Free Shipping ... uninstall it ... this is most likely not the way to go ... but I am still trying to understand things here on what you need and work out a solution ... :)

And just since it would be a good time to ask, what are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

Re: Free shipping - please help

I don't remember who GG is Gibralter or somewhere. :unsure:

Yes, it was an attempt to offer free shipping on products marked as Always free shipping.

Yes, anything above 2lbs and up to 50lbs will remain at £10.95, as in the shipping/packaging config I have set a maximum purchase weight of 50lbs.

(I'll change this to kg soon)

The settings in shipping/packaging as follows:

Country of Origin United Kingdom
Postal Code HA3 6HH
Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 50
Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight 0:0
Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight 10:0
Display Number of Boxes and Weight Status 0
Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status 1
Shipping Estimator Display Settings for Shopping Cart 1
Display Order Comments on Admin Invoice 1
Display Order Comments on Admin Packing Slip 1

Re: Free shipping - please help

Okay so all weights are weights and you mean what you say on your Zone Rates ...

And the real issues are having weights that work with "everyone" but when a Product has Always Free Shipping that is "only" for the UK and that is "ALWAYS" free shipping if marked as "Always Free Shipping" for the UK and NEVER free shipping for anyone else and should use a weight and all the weights would follow your Zone Rate settings if you could only get Products set as Always Free Shipping to "ALSO" hear the weight for everone EXCEPT the UK, because the Always Free Shipping is really meant to mean ...

When Marked as Always Free Shipping ONLY give the Free Shipping to the UK and for everyone who is NOT the UK ... you WISH it would hear the products_weight ...

Is that what you are trying to do here? :lamo:

Re: Free shipping - please help

Now ... you hit 50 lbs so that is 10.95 ... is over 50 lbs 10.95 or 0.00 or how much do you "think" 51 lbs comes out to? :unsure:

Still working on the Always Free shipping just for the UK ... I know what has to be done ... just have to do it in the right places to make the least number of code changes and not break other things ... :smile:

Re: Free shipping - please help

I've set maximum weight to be 50kgs, so hopefully... it will tell the customer to drop a load! Either way, I wouldn't be so fussed if they were to reach the limit, charge or no charge, I'll be over the moon with that huge a purchase! :yes:

PHP coding?? I have have a book I've been meaning to read :smartalec: but at the moment it is just collecting dust from my shelf.

Re: Free shipping - please help

Speaking of breaking... I've broke my header links. They don't link to any of the pages they're supposed to! :no:

Could it be caused by any of the modules I've installed? or should I post this on another topic?

Re: Free shipping - please help

I'd take the broken header to another thread ... I don't believe it could be related to anything here ...

Meanwhile, I hate to actually sleep but I must ...

Then I will attack this tomorrow ...
