Catalog images directory is not writeable

I am attempting to add new items to my shop. I have not been actively using Zen Cart for awhile now. Maybe I am forgetting how to do this but when I attempt to add an image to the product it is saying "Catalog images directory is not writeable". I am uploading to the "medium" folder in images and then put the thumbnail in the main directory. However, it is blank.

The same thing is happening to me suddenly. Cannot get any help. Do you think it is a ZEN cart problem and not an individual problem?

Nothing to do with Zen Cart. In your webmaster panel (probably CPanel), check the setting for the folder you're trying to upload to. Contact your hosting service and see if they've changed anything recently.

Actually i am having the same problem too. it is only on one of my stores and it just happens to be the one that is 1.3.9d.

I am wondering if it has to do with the change in the .htaccess file.
