Specials - Is there an easier way?

I often want to put a special on single items but the Specials maker is just horrible to work with.

Is there a mod or something that makes this easier than scrolling through the tiny box of every item you have in store to find it. I have tried using the item number but to do that I have to go find it and that is a pain too. Is there a search function or something quicker than scrolling?

I have clicked the $ sign icon in the category listing page but that is messy and confusing in there too. You seem to have to do so much clicking to put one discount on an item.

If you know the products_id of the Product to put on Special go to the Catalog ... Specials ... and in the right hand box click the button:

Select
Product ID to be Manually Added as a Special

Enter the products_id and click the CONFIRM button ...

So, I installed the Quick Updates addon, but still can't figure out how it can manage the specials. All I see is just a bunch of irrelevant prodcuts dumped into one slow loading page. o_0

What am I supposed to do with this thing? I just want to extend all the specials in our store to be up as specials for another 3 months or so.

In Quick Updates: Choose the category the product is in, find the product and click the green $ behind the price to open pricemanager and "install specials".

But it would have been easier if it could be done directly in quickupdater or the product edit page. Have been thinking of making a mod for that ........
