Mix two language packs?

I'm trying to create a catalogue for a store in Spain. The problem is:
The language pack of Spanish from Spain only has the front end translated, and the admins don't speak English

This other language pack has both Spanish Front end and admin, but it is Spanish from Colombia

Is it possible for the front end to install the Spanish from Spain, and in the admin area have the Spanish from Colombia (the admins will understand it better than English)?

I would think you should be able to install the store part of the one pack and just upload the 'admin' folder from the other, and be OK. I would try it in a test store first, to make sure.

For some reason it did not work at all on the first attempt. I'll be trying again and keep you posted.

Please Note: There will still be some English in the Admin as some of the display is stored in the Database and not in the language files.
