multi-seller?

Hi,

I have a client that has multiple websites, but only one central SSL site. I'm trying to find out if Zen Cart has a multi-seller capability, ie many store fronts, one cart. It could all be one cart if it could have mulitple templates, one for each store.

TIA,
Andrew.

Re: multi-seller?

A SSL Certificate is for a sinlge domain. E.G. https://www.examlpe.com. Only wildcard certificates work for subdomains.

So if you want to use different Zencarts for the same domain, you can install several Zencarts in different folders, e.g. www.example/Zencart1 and www.example/Zencart2 with different databases.

There is also a Multiple site module to manage different Zencarts for one Admin area.

Re: multi-seller?

I've done some further research, and found that what I'm looking for is usually called a multi-vendor cart (as opposed to a mall cart). Example: abc.com and xyz.com both have an order link for their products (not form fields), but both go to secure.somewhere.com, where each vendors' store is separate.

Re: multi-seller?

That is definitely nothing that is integrated in Zencart. And I havent heard of a module that handles this kind if issue.

Maybe you find another free shopping cart that handles this issue or pay for another hosting account with a second SSL certificate. That is actually not that expensive. If you expect a lot of customers/orders for both shops its the best anyway. Also when you shops are unrelated.
