To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

I have survived the grocery store and returned to the boards. The only problem I care about right now is the disappearance of my price from the live site. According to gjh42, I had to have changed something in the products_listing.php file. Does anyone know off the top of your head what section would make the price disappear from the product listings on the live site. I had to have done it last night and do not remember what I changed to make it disappear. If anyone can help, that would be great. I am gonna download the Zen Cart to my comp and use Notepad++ to try and find any differences.

Thanks for all of the help. Zen Cart is, by far, the most helpful forum that I have dealt with out of all 10 of the shopping carts forum I have tried carts from.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

Alright, I just copied the original code back to my store produtcs_listing.php and it did not fix the vanishing price. Does anyone have any ideas? I am gonna do the same thing with the other 2 files that I messed with last night and see if that fixes it.

Price is still missing after changing the stylesheet.css, the stylesheet_css_buttons.css, and the products_listing.php files back to the original code. Does anyone know what sections in the store admin change anything about the price? I messed with that alot last night and don't even begin to remember what I changed there.

As you are importing Products ...

First, check that you actually have Prices on your products ...

No prices on the products ... then no prices to show ... :eek:

Next, your Products are all most likely missing the master_categories_id and products_price_sorter ...

If you do not use Linked Products, you can fix this with the Tools ... Store Manager ...

Run the:
Update Master Categories ID

then run the:
Update Products Price Sorter

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

I had prices on them yesterday because I was trying to get help for getting the price next to the add to cart button instead of on top of it. When I got up the morning and check out the site, the prices were not there. I may have to just delete all of the files and upload everything again. I will probably never find the error, being that I changed so many files yesterday for something stupid. This will teach me a lesson. I need to get started on the re-upload if I want to get it done tonight. Linda, I understand that this will erase all of the work that you have done in the files for me, but I don't have any other way to fix this huge error on my part.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

I just tried to upload the new cart files and I guess GoDaddy timed out on me or something. It didn't upload all of the files and it made me log in again, IN THE MIDDLE OF A DOWNLOAD. So big thanks to GoDaddy for an overzealous timeout. I have just about had it with this store customizing sh*t. I have tried and tried and tried, and even though Ajeh and I had a fantastic store going, I trashed it trying to do something stupid like move the price around on the products listing page. Months of work that are about to be thrown out if I can't find where I messed up and made the price disappear, and I am done reading script to try to find one character or line out of place or missing.

I will now start taking offers from people that would like to make a new store for me using Zen Cart. The store will only sell sports cards, so we won't have to mess with trying to get custom script to adjust for the weight differences for shipping on Cards, Hot Wheels, and Shoes.

You appear to have prices on all but 390 or so products ...

Click on All Products on your site and then sort on Price low to high ...

Then go to page 40 ... and you will start to see prices showing up ...

Is this a bad import or do you not have prices on 390 or so products of the 1108 active products? :unsure:

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

Wow. Good call, Ajeh! My spreadsheets actually did have the prices in them, but the price column in that spreadsheet has to be in number format. I had it in money format. Man, something that small, that is ridiculous. Kudos to Ajeh for bringing it up and, at least getting me to check the sheet and, while there, I changed the format just in case and it worked. I cleared the database to reupload all of my product sheets after I change the price column format in them.

Ajeh, I am still getting those tabs in the files warnings in the yellow dross at the top of the screen, but the upload went through just fine. The tabs don't seem to be hurting the upload process.

OK, the price issue is fixed, now I need to go get that code that Takota gave me and get that in for left alignment. That leaves me with getting the price BESIDE the add to cart box and finding a way to get the "ENTER" box on my flash home page to link to my shop home page. Not sure what to do on that at all. Never linked a page like that before. Any help is fantastic, and again, great job by the Zen Cart crew as always.

Check your spreadsheet ... should you now only have 955 active products? You had 1181 earlier ... :huh:

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

I got it, I now have 1213 of 3250 active. I noticed a few days ago that I had not finished the quantities on about 100 cards at the end of a sheet, but it is fixed now. That is how many I have done so far. I have one more sheet that is done, it just needs some fine tunning before I load it up, then I will have another 792 more possible. Not sure how many I actually have in that 792 card set, but I am sure it is 650 or so. I have continued to work on spreadsheets while we have struggled with the site difficulties. It is looking good now, thanks mostly to you and your perseverance to getting this site done correctly. Bedtime for me now. It's church and then back to the cards again tomorrow. I should be on here again, asking more questions as I find things I don't understand.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

To get the add box next to the price, you do want to do the product_listing.php edit I described. Without an edit of that nature, there will be no way to get hold of the correct elements to move them.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

Thank you, gjh42, I did remember that you gave me code to fix that box. I just forgot to acknowledge that in the last message and I just haven't actually applied those changes yet.

All I was doing was mentioning what I still had to get done when time permitted, kind of "typing out loud", if I could use that phrase. I certainly haven't forgotten about the many changes that I still need to make, as well as the extremely generous people spending their time to give me these fixes.

I actually made more work for myself by erasing changes I had made in the past when I started replacing my current files with the original files in an attempt to fix my pricing issue, which we all now know was a format error in my spreadsheets, not in the code. But they are small changes and I will gradually apply them again when I have the extra time. The important thing now is that the store functions properly and looks very good.

I am gonna go back to all of my posts from the last few days and make sure that I have changed everything that everyone provided information to change. I don't wanna forget anything, or leave out a piece of code that someone provided to me.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

If I can get gjh42 and anyone else interested, to glance at a list of products in my store (I have been using 1981 Donruss just because it is first on the side bar after clicking the breadcrumb: Baseball Cards>1981>1981 Donruss). I applied the "gjh42 changes" to get the add to cart box out from under the price. It worked well, but now I have more questions. The price is now sitting up and I would like to get it lowered to the same level as the quantity number is at. And while you are looking at this part, notice in the title bar where it has

Qty.-Price.

This happened earlier when I aligned the item names to the left. I am just wondering if it can be fixed by putting a little more seperation between the two column names.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

It looks like another div for the price is necessary. Again in product_listing.php, find thisphp case 'PRODUCT_LIST_PRICE': $lc_price = zen_get_products_display_price($listing->fields['products_id']) . '<br />'; $lc_align = 'right'; $lc_text = $lc_price; and change to ```php
$lc_price = '<div class="listingPrice">' . zen_get_products_display_price($listing->fields['products_id']) . '</div>';

.listingPrice {}
with a width and float:left;

Add to your stylesheet
#listCell0-2  {text-align: center;}
for the price heading.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

Glenn, I am pretty sure that I did everything that you said to do, but the price is still up too high. I am not sure what actually makes the price come down to the level that the quantity is at. The price is still way up and not even with the quantity number. Not sure if you need to give me a specific number for width or something else. I haven't seen anything in the codes you gave me about top or bottom. All I see are left, center, and right. The price needs to come down, so is there a way to set the float to something like this: "float: bottom;"???

I noticed that I did not have a .listingPrice section already in my file. I had to create one at the page bottom. Not sure if that may be a factor or not. This is what I did for the one I couldn't copy. It could be wrong somehow because I don't really know how to set up new code:

.listingPrice {
float: left;
width: 3.0em;
}

And I think that this code worked:

#listCell0-2 {
text-align: center;
}

It is still getting better with every single thing I put into the code. Even if it is a tiny change, it is a tiny change for the good so far.

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

You currently have a width of 10.0em on .listingPrice.
Fix that, and add margins to fine-tune the position:```
.listingPrice {
float: left;
width: 3.0em;
margin: 1.5em 0 0 2.5em;
}

Re: To all helping out BenhamCollectibles, this is the new thread...

Fantastic!!! I knew something was still off, but I don't know what works and terms can and cannot be put into script to make it work. I copied what you just gave me and I changed the 1.5em to 1.6em. Now it is perfectly lined up with the quantity number and centered side to side. Excellent!! Thank you, Glenn.

Now I need to figure out how to get the sound back on my flash home page and how to reconnect it to my shop home page. Any ideas on who to talk to about that???

That sounds like a question you want to post in a new thread so "flash people" will notice it... or else find a thread where the question has been addressed and continue that.
