How to make a FREE product instantly downloadable, without having to approve it?

Install the Modules ... Payment ...
The Zen Cart FREE CHARGE CARD freecharger

and set the Order Status to either Processing (orders_status 2) or Delivered (orders_status 3) ...

This will make all orders that only have Free Products immediately available for Download ...

For mixed orders, where some are Free and some are not, you can set the Order Status of the other Payment modules accordingly ...
