INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Canadian Merchants wishing to offer INTERAC as a payment method may now use the Beanstream INTERAC payment method.

Be sure to tell the Beanstream people that Zen Cart sent you! This benefits the project.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

I signed up yesterday, they auto emailed me a pdf form that I am supposed to sign and fax in. The only thing is, the form does not work! It has been slightly over a day since I contacted their support and applications email addresses and still no reply. Hmm... poor customer service response time.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

I have successfully installed and tested the Interac module- which is absolutely fabulous by the way!

I have been waiting to go Live with Beanstream and noticed in one of their Interac Integration manuals that one of the requirements is the ability to print the confirmation page. I don't see a print button anywhere on the confirmation page. Could you tell me how I would go about adding a print button to the confirmation page?

Thanks!

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

You're saying that the user can't use the CTRL+P keystroke, or can't click the "print" icon in the browser, or can't choose "File->Print" from the browser menu?

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Yes they can print from the browser or the file ->print command. Is there not a way to add a print button to the actual confirmation page?

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Yes - you could use javascript print and attach it to a button if you wish.

But I think that what Dr. Byte is saying is that it may be overkill.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Thanks for the info about the javascript button - that idea hadn't crossed my mind.

I have another question to ask about this module since getting more info back from Beanstream today and I hope this is the right place to ask this question.

First - here are the details about my ZenCart installation:

* What version of Zen Cart are you using? **Zen Cart 1.3.8a**
* Has your site been upgraded? When? From what version(s)? **No**
* What addons have you installed? When? **Cartage Component - Version 1.0 -same day I installed ZenCart**
* In what ways is your site customized or different from a brand new uncustomized install?**I am running my ZenCart inside my Joomla based website. I am using Cartage (and their template) to do that inside Joomla v1.5.11**
* If you're encountering display/layout problems, post your site URL* so it can be seen in action. **<https://www.fireandfuel.ca/parts-counter.html>**

This is what I got told by Beanstream today: "While I was going through the interact transaction I noticed you are loading the banks site in a frame within the website. This is allowed however once you go live you will be loading the entire banks website within your frame. I would recommend either adding scroll bars to the frame or having a separate pop-up page where they would go through the interact process and when they finish it would close and redirect to your page."

I would like to have the bank's site pop-out. But I have no idea how to add that command. Would that be inside tour Interac module?? If so, what file would I put that in? Or is this a ZenCart payment page thing or perhaps a Cartage issue?

Thanks for helping this non-programmer out!

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Hi all,

We're having some troubles with the Canadian Interac by Beanstream module. Everything seems to go through, my bank account even gets debited, however nothing goes through Beanstream's system, and when the "payment" it made it goes back to our cart saying the payment failed. According to Beanstream I should get credited for the amounts tonight as they are not complete transactions.

Any thoughts?

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Here's some more details.
After going through the bank stuff it sends me back to the store at step 2 of 3 of the checkout. Right under the top line the error message below is displayed.

No data - Your INTERAC® card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct the information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

I've reinstalled the module and no change.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Another piece of possibly relevant information. The cart is in a subdirectory. the url is www.twoguystraining.com/cart

The owners wanted to keep their site like it was as they don't know anything about the behind the scenes stuff with websites and are using their hosts "Sitebuilder" software to make the site. From their base site we have linked to the cart that I built for them how they wanted it. All they need to do with Zen Cart is the inventory stuff while all I need to do is try and keep it running and secure without having to build their whole site in Zen Cart.

I hope someone has an idea as to what I can do to get this working. Lots of others are using it so it has to be something I have fooled up. :)

Thanks!

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Still can't figure it out. If anyone has any idea please let me know. We've sold lots of courses via Credit Card, but the Interac does not work. It gets to the bank and the account gets charged for the amount, but then the bank refunds the money back into the account.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

I am experiencing the same issue. I have been in contact with Beanstream, they've seen the error and they looked at my debug logs. They say it all looks good to them. If we put the account back into testing mode, it all runs perfectly. It's only once live that it stops working.

Here's what I got from Beanstream support:

The logs below look fine, what you're seeing there is the initial request to our system, followed by the redirect we send back to send the customer to the Interac system. This is all working from what I can see, and a test I did up to the Interac login page worked as well. This indicates that the urls are correct as well.

Without being able to do a live test it's hard to see exactly what the error that Zencart is capturing, the screenshot indicates there was an error but does not show the actual error from our response, which would have an ID and a message associated with it.

What I would recommend is making a post on the Zencart support forum describing the issue, as it sounds like there's some sort of problem with the module itself, or perhaps the configuration of it. Ask if there's any additional logging happening that you could send to us, or any way to see the actual error response from our system on the 2nd part of the transaction. The person that created the module posts under the name "swguy" on the forums, he's likely to respond if you're looking for assistance with it.

If you can get additional information from the Zencart logs or a more specific error message then we can look further into it, unfortunately with the information provided I don't see anything wrong with the setup on our end or with the actual IOP url setup.

swguy, are you available to help diagnose this one?

Thanks,
David

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

Please download version 1.0.1 and set debug to "Log File". This will create a file called Interac_Debug_Input.log in your cache directory that will help us see what the problem is.

Done!

Here is the contents of the log file:

199 iso_code_2 CA billing country id 38 billing state Newfoundland zone_code --215 iso_code_2 delivery country id delivery state zone_code --

All one line, no line breaks.

Re: INTERAC via Beanstream Support Thread

In phpMyAdmin, please execute the command

select * from zones where zone_country_id = 38;

(If you use a prefix like "zen_" make this "from zen_zones")

I'm in phpMyAdmin, where do I run this command? All I can find is an area to run a query.

Thanks!
