Odd client request...need help to see if can work - Free Product

I have looked at Better Together, Dangling Carrot but neither can do exactly what my client needs and I my mind cannot wrap around a way to do this...

She offers a few promos a month...one is typically a FREE gift with ANY purchase....but she only wants the people who come from the promotional link to qualify for this free gift....

So this would mean there would be a link in an ad or a newsletter that would take them to her site....and only THOSE people would qualify for the free gift....

Is there any way to accomplish this that my brain is missing?

One way that I have done this is to create an ez page with the information. And then make sure that the page is disabled for all locations.
Now the link from your adds would call the ez-page directly eg. ```
http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=14

The ez-page will not show up in the sitemap or on the site. Only with a direct link will you get the page.

Thanks Skip...but I am confused...so I bring them to an EZPage but how can they check out? The free gift will be with ANY purchase....but only for those specific group of people....not clear on how your idea would work --- could be me though I am brain dead trying to figure this out!

Of course there is many ways of doing this and that was just one. What you could do is just supply the coupon code on the ez page with a link to the product itself.

Or just give the coupon code in the promotional with a link.
