total newb Q- can't find new template

1. I use godaddy as server
2. I selected new free template - cold steel - and downloaded zip
3. unzipped
4. used ftp option in godaddy and uploaded file folder to "template" file folder
   5.green (basic template that comes with program) and default template file folders are there from original install as well as new folder "cold steel"
5. went to tools and used template select
6. the only one showing is default(all) classic contemp green dir=class
7. I select edit and the only available choice is "classic green"

PLEASE help me figure out how I can "find" cold steel

Sounds like something was lost or garbled in the upload. Either try uploading again with the FTP function you used previously or get an FTP client independent of your hosting. Filezilla is a good, free FTP client.

In order to be recognized in the admin, every template must have includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php (where YOUR_TEMPLATE is the name of your custom template). Check and see if that file exists in the template download (it should) and if it was uploaded to your site.

Uploaded into the /includes/templates directory?

So should be like this:

/includes/templates/cold_steel

???

I misunderstood the process. I thought I needed to install under the templates folder in includes that was already there instead of installing "another" separate "includes"

off to start filling my shop :P
