Deleting products edited by EasyPopulate doesn't seem to work??

I have tried multiple times to delete about 165 of about 1000 products from my site. The category of the 165 products for some reason got messed up, and only showed up on the website, but not in the Admin >>Catalog>> Products page -- I am guessing this is because the master category started with a number. As soon as I used EP to download the .csv and I changed the category to a word, the products not only changed to the category on the website, but I could also see them in the Admin >> Catalog >> Products pages.

However, when I deleted the entire new category (which should have deleted the products as well), the category deleted, but the products reverted back to the HOME category and won't show up in Admin >> Catalog >> Products

I also have duplicates of items - appearing in both the correct subcategory, but also showing up in the .csv file from EP to be in the master category (without a subcategory)....no matter what I try, I can't delete these permanently either....

Help !! How do I permanently delete these items?

Thanks in advance.....

Re: Deleting products edited by EasyPopulate doesn't seem to work??

Make sure your easypopulate.php has an extra product field for products_id. (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116061)
Create a complete EP file of your products.
Check and see what the products_id is for the bad products.
Change the v_status of each of the bad products to 9 (delete). (http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Easy_Populate)
Upload the file to your stores datebase.

Before doing any of this, please do read up on EP, so that you can pick
the right version for your needs, modify it to fit your store perfectly,
and lastly fix your problems and not extend the damage done to your store.

I use Easy Populate CSV 1.2.5.7b, with a few modifications to fit my needs.
I supose there might be some reason besides legacy to continue using the old langer-versions, but I dont see it.
