Credit card swiper integration?

I'd like to use ZenCart for both online and brick/mortar POS.

I have a 3 track credit card swipe.

Does anyone know of a plugin / addon to zencart that could be used to integrate a card swipe with ZenCart? So, the customers' details would not have to be typed in, but rather entered from the swiper.

No. Zencart does not store any credit card information. When you offer offline credit card payment, Zencart will send you the credit card number in 2 emails. You need another software to do this.

Thanks for you response, but I think it doesn't pertain to my question.

A credit card swipe (like the magtek 3-track, dual head), is nothing more than a specialized keyboard that enters the credit card information into the keyboard buffer.

That makes no implications on whether the data in stored or how it is communicated by email. Those are orthogonal concerns from how the data is captured.

Your conclusion is probably still accurate though. Nothing like this exists.

Plenty of people have posted about POS integration, and I think some have been able to do it. Whether the information/code has been shared is another question.

I've found the documentation on the format for what is returned by the swipe readers but now just need a way to enter this in to Zen Cart. I wonder if this could be tied into the admin module that lets you place an order as a customer? We will be at a conference this summer and I would like to take credit cards at our booth using a card swipe machine via USB. If anyone is willing to help, please reply or PM me. Thanks. It seems like this should be a pretty simple thing to accomplish.
