Product with separate attribute quantities

I've never posted because I prefer to scour the forums for answers, but I can't seem to find an answer to this, so here goes....

I'm trying to set up a product--for example a DVD--that has attributes for complimentary materials. For instance, an instructor's manual, and a participant's workbook.

I'm trying to make it so you can specify individual quanties for each part. For instance, you can choose to buy 1 DVD ($15 each), 2 instructor's manuals ($5 each), and 15 participant's workbooks($2) each. The total should be $55.

Any ideas?

I've tried the Product Attribute Grid add-on, but as far as I can tell, that only allows for one quantity per order (maybe I'm misunderstanding the add-on...).

I also know that I can sell the workbooks separately or create an option value for each quantity (e.g., 1 workbook +$2, 2 workbooks, +$4, etc). But neither of these are elegant or really practical.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Product with separate attribute quantities

Maybe it is better to have them as seperate products and link them together as recommended products with the advanced cross sell addon. This maybe easier for customers as well when they want to buy more workbooks later without the dvd.

Much more flexible.

Re: Product with separate attribute quantities

Thanks for the suggestion. I've looked into it and I think I'll definitely use it if I can't get the solution I want.
