USPS Website Shipping Calculator not working

I get this message...

We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)

AND yes everything is correct on my end, I have been using this shipping api with usps to get rates for about a year, all of a sudden not working, anyone else running into this>? I had 4 people sign up for an account today and no orders, so I decided to check it out.

I also notice when you try and go to https://secure.shippingapis.com/registration/

That it wont let you.

Anyone know anything? Please help thanks

i am having the same problem..

someone ordered an hour ago from me and it was fine and now im getting that error too.. i think that there might be something wrong with USPS because i tried installing the old patches just to make sure and it still doesn't work ):

I am in a way glad to hear someone else is having a problem, it sucks cause the usps is not available right now, I just cam home from a family party so i havent checked my site for all day, I wonder if it has been just a little bit of time down, or a long time. What are other options that seem to work best as an alternate shipping method when the usps website is down?? I seem to have the hardest time with it cause i ship in the us and internationally and there is no real way to get the right info.

i have been getting orders all day so for me (im sure it might be the same) its only been down for about an hour, maybe more

all i did was set up a flat rate shipping.. its the middle of the night for me so i don't expect TOO many orders so i just put a flat rate of $2.25 to hold over until USPS fixes itself :smile:

ah, my products shipping is usually anywhere from $5.95 to $60.00

im sure they are.. but everyone is sleeping and has no idea :D

Must've been a temporary glitch with the usps.com site because mine was doing the exact same thing yesterday (had to manually invoice through paypal all day in order to have the right shipping), but it's working fine now. Made no changes. Just POOF, it's all working again. :wink:

It is not unusual for live quote servers to get overwhelmed this time of year. Your best bet is to have some other shipping methods available.
