Root Directory Of My Shop?????

Where is the root directory located for my shop? Thanks :blush:

Where did you install your Zencart files? If you installed them in a folder called /store then that folder is your root directory for the shop. If you installed them on your main hosting account root directory like maybe /htdocs then that is your shop root.

Your answer was also correct - Zencart is usually installed to the site's root, and, in my opinion, should be. But you can also install it to a subdirectory like /shop if you want to.

It's also important to understand the distinction between a Zen Cart's web server root and its file system root. For example on client sites we may have the store launched directly from https://www.mydomain.com, but point that domain to a subdirectory e.g. htdocs/zc138 allowing us to manage live and test versions of a site, without the later ending up in a subdirectory of the main site. Launch of the upgraded site is also then easier as we need only repoint the domain to the new, already tested version, rather than moving a couple of thousand files around.

My desire is to upload a module called "SaveForLater" to my ZenCart. I've been instructed to upload the contents of the folder to the root directory of my shop but I'm completely confused.

I've followed your guidance about where the root directory is but the upload is not working. Am I missing something?
