Easy Populate and the Date added updated to todays date issue.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I've been searching and have not been able to find any.

To clarify the problem:

You have old items in your database and are uploading updates to those items. the Date added column auto updates to todays date. Hence making all old items appear new and show up under new products side box.

I use zen-cart 1.3.8a
and ez populate 1.2.5.4

Anybody know where I can find the answer to this issue. I've been searching for the last 2 days. Maybe I missed it somewhere. I will continue searching but if someone knows where I can get the answer it would save me a ton of time.

When you do the update, you can't leave the v_date_added column empty.

Depending on how you have configured EP to format the date, you will put a date value for each product.

When you do the dump FROM the store (dbase), what values are in that column?

My store(s) return the following (for example):

v_date_added
2008-09-19 14:09:39
2008-09-19 14:09:45
2008-09-19 14:10:05
2008-09-19 14:10:12
2008-09-19 14:10:22
2008-09-19 14:10:39

I just make sure that column is there, with the original output, before I re-upload changes.

I had problems with this for ages & finally managed to sort this issue out by making sure in config that...
date was set to y-m-d
& maximum values was switched from the default 0 (all) to one of the time periods listed 90 days, 30 days whatever....

and that with my file in excel I set the date format to custom
yyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss

In what file do I see if my date format is configured correctly for easy populate. Im getting errors with uploading my csv file and it has to do with the date.
Can anyone please advise.

Never mind, I figured it out. Its under admin>config>easy populate...duh!:oops:
