Flat rate for 1 item and more for each additional item

I'm not using any shipping contribution and all items are shipped by me manually by going to the postal office, no fedex add-on etc..
How do I configure the cart to continue to charge a flat fee for one item but then a certain amount more for each additional item?

Use the Item Rate item shipping module and use the Handling Fee and Shipping Cost to manage this ...

Example: $12.00 for the 1st item and 4.50 for each Item after that is

Handling: 7.50
Shipping Cost: 4.50

Thanks for your advice. Is there another way that will show it as shipping only without the handling? Something about handling fees I'm sure will turn off some customers even though yes, it is a shipping charge and not some arbitrary fee that was tacked on.

It is only going to give the lump total for the shipping cost ... try it and see how it works for you ...
