Negative stock on only one product!

Hello, I am not sure it is a bug :

My site is properly configure to only allow checkout if stock is positive. But during Christmas I get a negative stock on one product. The result is an angry customer because I guarantee stock availibility!

I achieve to reproduce it simulating two customers buying the same product with stock quantity = 1 at the same time.

Bug or zen cart limitation? How to solve that?

First, consider making the move to 1.3.8a.

Also, if you guarantee availability, why stop folks from checking out if the item goes to zero?

Sorry I can not be of help, but I would just like to add that I also experienced this problem some time ago(I run 1.3.8a). I DID HAVE "Configuration >>> Stock >>> Allow Checkout " set so he could not check out. I also had a customer try and buy something that was listed at 0 and I guess he really wanted(I was on LivePerson at the time) it because he kept trying and trying to add it to his cart and check out. Eventually he did and my stock went to "-1".

This was back in July. Never happened again.

Let me first wish a happy year 2010 to the zencart team and all contributors.

To be more specific on my post, I must explain what means s"tock availibility" : it means that I guarantee that if a person order a product this product is available in stock and will be delivered shortly. That's why I don't allow checkout if stock is 0.

But I think that if two persons order the same product at the same time and if stock is 1 piece the result is a negative stock.

If this is the case, the problem is that more you have concurrent customers more this situation will happen.

can somebody confirm?

why can't i find this in my admin "Configuration >>> Stock >>> Allow Checkout "

version? Mods? TM?
Farthest menu option on the left -- Configuration
Eighth selection down -- Stock
Third selection down -- Allow Checkout

1.3.8 ive got, the only mod which i may believe causing the issue is stock configuration mod.

Not sure which add-on you're talking about, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure it goes with your version.

Try uninstalling the mod and see if things don't change.
