Flexible Attributes addon support

Thank You so much for your help!
It looks so much better already :clap:

Theres still one thing im having a problem with...
for a page with many options the radio button does not come next to the rest of the attributes. This is prob because I have the text hidden but I do not see any other way I can achieve without using this kind of method. :frusty:
Is there a way to move the radio button next to the rest of the display attributes?
Some pages will have has many as 7 items...

What I am trying to do is to achieve as close to the original layout as possible
Original can be found at: http://www.perfumeblvd.com/angel_perfume_women_mini.htm

Beta site is at :
http://xlegends.com/beta/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_40&products_id=8

Thank you so much for your help!
when the website is fully operational i'll be sure to send you a thank you gift certificate.

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Hi, I am looking for a way to resize my attribute images, will this mod allow me to do this? I've searched all over the forum (and elsewhere) I can't seem to find anyway to get the attributes at the correct size.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks:frusty:

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109066

Yeah I saw that one and tried the changes but I think that changes the space between the images not the sizes as it made no difference for me.:dontgetit

Thanks though!

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Thanks, littlekid440, that looks like it would do the job. Flexible Attributes in itself does not address the image size at all.

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Thank you
that worked wonders
just one slight problem
I added this -
#wAttrib-6 input {
height: 1.8em;
float:right;
}

it looks great on Firefox and chrome however on internet explorer it is not straight on top of each other.
feel free to check it out
http://xlegends.com/beta/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_40&products_id=8

is there another code that I should be using insted of float:right?

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

I don't have time to look at it in IE, but you might try text-align: right; instead of float: right;

Or maybe the text-align should go on the next level up from the input...

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

IT WORKED!
looks PERFECT on Firefox and chrome!
a bit buggy but works on IE but its satisfactory for now. I don't think I want to spend any more time on trying to figure out IE bug right now either... not until the other parts of the website is complete. When I do figure it out i'll be sure to post it here on the forums so others would know.

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Hello gjh42, I have been trying to get my attributes to line up next to each other but have not had any success. I was wondering if you could look at my page and see what is wrong. I have added the pages to the correct place and edited the CSS sheet, which I did have a basic understanding of, but they are not lining up.

http://www.theblackweddingdress.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=15

here is my current CSS code so you don't have to look at each line:

.wrapperAttribsOptions label {font-size: 1.0em;}/make "label" elements match other text/
h3#attribsOptionsText {

}
/hide the "Please Choose:" heading/
h4.optionName {
font-size: 10px;
font-weight: bold;
}
.wrapperAttribsOptions+br.clearBoth {display:;}/allow floated attributes to sit side by side if desired/
#wAttrib-5 {clear: left; float: left;}

#wAttrib-6 {float: left;}/this will sit beside #wAttrib-11/
#wAttrib-8 {float: left;}
#wAttrib-9 {clear: left;}/this will sit on a new line/
#wAttrib-10 {float: left;}
#wAttrib-14 h4 {display: none;}
#wAttrib-15 h3 {font-size: 1em; font-weight: normal;}/make comments above attribute like standard text/
#wAttrib-35 .attribsOptions {display: none;}/for a read-only attribute to hide all but comments/

Thanks for taking the time. I was also wondering if you knew where the "please choose:" to edit it to another wording, my search funtion on my editor is not finding it for some reasons.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

As an example of why we need to see a site live and look at the stylesheets for ourselves, the critical factor is that you have a rule in stylesheet_y.css (line 32) which is loaded after stylesheet_flexible_attributes.css and overrides it:
#productAttributes .clearBoth {
clear: left;
display: inline;
float: right;
width: 50%;
}

This negates the rule in stylesheet_flexible_attributes.css (line 26)
.wrapperAttribsOptions + br.clearBoth {
display: none;
}

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Hello gjh

Just wanted to let you know ive managed to fix all of my IE problem by adding "meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7"" to the all ready declared statement located in the template file html_header.php

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" "Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<?php echo CHARSET; ?>" />

hope this helps some out there :bigups:

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Mr. Herbert<
Just wanted to thank you for your help. I forgot I tried to get CSS to get them to line up earlier, and never took them out. I guess I have to get more proficient with the firebug program, would have told me. This problem drove me carazy, so thanks for taking a look at my site.

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

Hi Glenn

This mod has been and will continue to be a Godsend.
I feel a bit of a dunce for not knowing this but the drop-down boxes are pushing content to the right of the page. I'm pretty sure I need to add 'position:absolute' to the css somewhere but I can't figure out where - I fear it may not even be within Flexible Attributes but I feel I have to cover all options. Here's a link to one of the pages in question (I'm still at the tinkering stage so the site is a long way from being finished):

http://www.picturename.co.uk/catalogue/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=69&products_id=186

Hope you can help. I'm in can't-see-the-wood-for-the-trees territory at the mo'.

Cheers

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

I tried following the method discussed by gjh42 and tsrplatelayer to set up columns of attributes, but I must be missing something... I am trying to set up three columns of attributes. Each column should have three attribute drop-down menus, as such:

Column 1:
Juice flavor 1 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 2 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 3 [dropdown]

Column 2:
Meal bar flavor 1 [dropdown]
Meal bar flavor 2 [dropdown]
Meal bar flavor 3 [dropdown]

Column 3:
Dessert flavor 1 [dropdown]
Dessert flavor 2 [dropdown]
Dessert flavor 3 [dropdown]

I would also like to be able to add a unique column "header" icon above each column... is that possible?

Can anyone please help me to determine how such a setup would be accomplished using the stylesheet_flexible_attributes.css file?

Thanks!

Re: Flexible Attributes addon support

First off, to get the column organization you want, you will need to sort the attributes like
Juice flavor 1 [dropdown]
Meal bar flavor 1 [dropdown]
Dessert flavor 1 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 2 [dropdown]
Meal bar flavor 2 [dropdown]
Dessert flavor 2 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 3 [dropdown]
Meal bar flavor 3 [dropdown]
Dessert flavor 3 [dropdown]

Then you can use stylesheet rules to force new lines after every third attribute, giving a "column-like" layout.
Juice flavor 1 [dropdown] Meal bar flavor 1 [dropdown] Dessert flavor 1 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 2 [dropdown] Meal bar flavor 2 [dropdown] Dessert flavor 2 [dropdown]
Juice flavor 3 [dropdown] Meal bar flavor 3 [dropdown] Dessert flavor 3 [dropdown]

For the "Column x" headings, you could use read-only attributes.

The readme describes the pattern of style rules to produce columns. Among others, these
#wAttrib-11 {clear: left; float: left;}
#wAttrib-12 {float: left;}/this will sit beside #wAttrib-11/
adjusted to the actual ids will make the columns.

{clear: left; float: left;} will start a new line, and let the next attribute sit beside this one.
{float: left;} will let this attribute sit beside the previous one.
