Show All Categories button?

Hi,

I will have about 40 categories... which is too many to display in my storefront. Is there any way to limit the number of displayed categories to about 20 but have a "Show All Categories" button to display ALL 40 in a new page?

It would require some custom coding, but would not be complicated. You could add a test to the stock tpl_categories.php, or build on the category screening function in Categories Dressing.

First, how will you decide which categories to display on the homepage? Can you condense the categories so that there are only 20 top cats, with appropriate subcats? In some cases, organizing the categories under group headings will make the display easily comprehensible without reducing the number of categories displayed.
