Variable Pricing

Hi,

I have a set of products that have several variables to determine a price. They are length \ width and pitch. So that I don't have to enter hundreds of thousands of products to cover all mm measurements I was hoping someone could give me some guidance on the availability of something like a product configurator to calculate a price based on the above mentioned variables as I haven't seen it anywhere on the forum as yet.

For info I am not yet a zen cart user as I am trying to find a solution for the above before picking a package.

There is no standard feature that does this, but search the forum for posts by someone who had figured this out using attributes... search for Product Length and Breadth... It may throw that thread up.

If the variable values need to be multiplied to determine the price, I think you are going to have to get some custom coding. This is a version of "dependent attributes" which has been long requested, but apparently there are so many possible quirks for particular situations that it is very difficult to make a generic version that can be released. I suspect you will have a hard time finding it in any basic installation of a cart system.
