3 issues that are driving me mad

Hi again all.

I've been playing with the free template from Monster Template (I know, the devil) and there are now only 3 things wrong with it, and it's driving me nuts.

The first is this:

The lines of text are just way to close together. Where do I look to change this?

Second is:

How do I remove the Language and Currency options?

And last is:

How do I center the text?

Any help would be great.

Re: 3 issues that are driving me mad

Issue 1: includes->languages->english->down_for_maintenace.php

To turn this message off: Configuration -> Website maintenance -> down for maintence: on/off - select true (I'm sure this is whats causing this message to appear)

Issue 2: Play around with includes->templates->YOUR TEMPLATE->common->tpl_header.php to see if removing that option will not mess up your template (considering its a template monster template, I wouldn't bother to mess with it.

You can change your currency by going into admin then localization->currency

Issue 3: in admin tools -> layout box controller turn off sideboxes/whos_online.php

Have fun!!

It's not the maintainence function. This is text that I have entered in the define pages area, but the text is also too close in other ares's as well such as text in the checkout.

Don't want to turn it off, but center the text within the box.

Re: 3 issues that are driving me mad

Well, if possible it is going to help if you can post a URL which will let us give accurate answers and not guess so much

  1. This is adjusted in the stylesheet by css. You need, I am guessing to add a rule that looks something like:
#indexDefaultMainContent{
line-height:1.5em;
}

You can adjust the 1.5 to suit your needs.

  1. This is a alteration to the default install. You can turn it off perhaps from admin. Or you can remove the code for it from, perhaps. tpl_header.php, or you can stop it displaying using css. I'd need a URL to help more than that.

  2. Again in stylesheet.css file you need to add a rule something like (guessing again without a URL) :

#whosonline,#whosonlineContent{
text-align:center;
}

Re: 3 issues that are driving me mad

Removed code for problem 2 and added the code for problem 3 and they are both fixed.

As for problem 1, I can't find the code.

I've attached another picture below to show the problem a bit better with the line spacing.

Re: 3 issues that are driving me mad

Ha ha ha! I recognise this template. There is a thread somewhere where I have done these things before!

Here's what I think you should do. In stylesheet_tm.css find this:

body{
	padding:0;
	margin:0;
	background:#E2E2E2;
	width:100%;
	vertical-align:top;
	font-family: tahoma;
	color:#6D6D6D; line-height:13px; font-size:11px;
}

Change it to:

body{
	padding:0;
	margin:0;
	background:#E2E2E2;
	width:100%;
	vertical-align:top;
	font-family: tahoma;
	color:#6D6D6D;
font-size:11px;
}

I really don't know what someone thought they were doing putting a line height rule in the body. It would have maybe worked if it was in em rather than px.

So, personally,I'd also change the font-size to a em measurement. But that is just me.

Re: 3 issues that are driving me mad

Nick, you are a bloody legend. There are things in that file that I have been able to use to change things that I thought I was just going to have to live with. Thank you so much.

By looking at the site, is there anything that you would change to make it better (either looks or function). You obviously know what you are doing so I respect your opinion greatly.

Dean.
