Ipn fatal error

Hi all.

I'm still testing all the facets of my store before it goes live and have received this:

IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not find stored session in DB, cannot re-create session as PayPal IPN transaction

From what I can tell, this is telling me that it is a new order. Am I on the right track here?

URL is www.techracing.com.au

Re: Ipn fatal error

No, if that's the only message you're getting, then that message means you've received an IPN notification for a transaction that did not originate in your store. Perhaps from eBay or something else.

Re: Ipn fatal error

These are all the messages that I received:

  1. IPN PROCESSING INITIATED.

*** Originating IP: I removed the IP address
ppp121-44-62-34.lns20.syd6.internode.on.net
*** Browser/User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US;
rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

2.> IPN FATAL ERROR :: No POST data available -- Most likely initiated by browser and not PayPal.

 *** The rest of this log report can most likely be ignored !! ***
  1. IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not find stored session in DB, cannot re-create session as PayPal IPN transaction.

  2. IPN FATAL ERROR :: No saved IPN session data available. Must be an Express Checkout or Direct Pay transaction.

  3. IPN INFO - POST VARS received (sorted):

Array
(
)

Message 2 said 'The rest of this log report can most likely be ignored'. MOST LIKELY. I wasn't sure if I should, hence this post.

Re: Ipn fatal error

You can ignore it. Message #2 confirms that the IP address in #1 was actually you testing whether the IPN script would respond at all. And, since no PayPal-related data was present, it knew to ignore and abort.
