Is Zen Cart solution for me?

Hi. I'm not familiar with zen cart and I don't have time to test 5-10 different shopping carts before the deadline so I will describe our project and concerns and maybe you can tell me if Zen cart is the right solution for us. Some of the concerns that I have are from other shopping carts and may not apply to this one.

We have advertisers that pay different rates for ads, we invoice them once a month and we'd like to offer the payment online.

1. If we generate an invoice and create an item in the shopping cart that item will show up under the category that we file it under. In that case other advertisers will be able to see how much this one is paying. If we hide the item or the category - it still shows up under "view all items". We need to store the item in the shopping cart and make it available ONLY if you type in the code that is generated with the invoice. That code would of course be typed in while we're entering the item in the shopping cart.

2. Is there a "search by the item ID" option in this cart where the ID can be assigned manually? This ID would be a randomly generated code that we attach to their invoice so that they can log on and type it into our shopping cart.

3. If these problems will still exist - does anyone know of any other solutions?

Sounds like you need a billing application and not a shopping cart

to elaborate on kobra's response, you will require a merchant (i assume?) anyway, so why not investigate the facilities they provide? i'm in australia, and i know they vary greatly from one to the other let alone country to country but i vaguely remember the merchant i use offers a trimmed down billing facility allowing customers to pay their own invoices through a simple web interface. from memory, the customer simply enters a unique code (typically the invoice number) and then they have the option to pay the nominated amount. perhaps not as slick as what you are looking for, but in my experience function will always beat form : )

My merchant doesn't have any solutions for what we have and they pointed me in this direction.

Is there a billing application I can download and install and what do you recommend? That trimmed down version that you mentioned sounds like the right solution to us.
