Wrong prices with Qty Discounts that apply to mixed attributes
We have a store where most products have qty discounts (of the "Actual Price" discount type - i.e. fixed price breakdowns for each range of quantities).
The problem appears when the item also has different "color" attributes. The color attributes themselves do not affect price - but if more than one color is added to cart, the quantity discount start messing up. Here's an example of what happens.
The product is priced like this -
-
Price: $2.85
-
Qty Min: 2
-
Qty Units: 2
And the discount qtys are set up like this - -
Discount Qty Applies to Mixed Attributes: Yes
-
Discount Type: Actual Price
-
Discount Levels:
- min qty = 6, discount value = $1.95
- min qty = 12, discount value = $1.75
- min qty = 24, discount value = $1.55
Now, the product has 3 colors. Let's say that 2 units of each color are added to cart (=6 in total).
The discounts apply to mixed attributes - so according to the discount levels, the unit price should be $1.95 for all of them. Right?
Right? ...Wrong. This is what happens in the shopping cart:
- Color A: Qty = 2, Unit price = $2.85, Total = $5.70
- Color B: Qty = 2, Unit price = $2.85, Total = $5.70
- Color C: Qty = 2, Unit price = $1.95, Total = $3.90
Obviously, this is very far from our intention.
What's happening here? Why is it applying the discount only to one of the colors? What can I do to get it to apply the correct unit price to all colors of this product - based on the total qty in cart?
Would appreciate any help... this problem is already showing up in orders - so I really should solve this as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
