Could zen cart manage DVD rentals? Need advice

Hello everyone

I have been searching the web for a dvd movie rental script . I thought about zen cart since I have seen it on many sites. This is my scenario.

I want people to be able to rent the movie, pay it online and then pick them at the local store. Could be possible that in couple of months after the site is fully functional I will decide to let the people rent the movie and send them via mail. But right now my main goal is the 1st one above. Could this been done in zen cart or do I have to search for a specific script?

Best Regards,
Joe

You can use it for a start, but it requires a lot of extra coding depending on how you handle returns, late payment fees and maybe email reminders etc. Read this thread

I rent movies locally often. I notice they each have a unique bar code on the DVD, put there by the rental store. You'll need to ensure that is part of the product setup. In other words you won't have just one product per movie, but you'll need as many products for each movie as you have copies for rental.
