What does the field Product Model

Hi, I have looked in the FAQ and searched forum and can't find anything on it.

There is a field when your inputing the data for a item called product model. What is its purpose and how is it supposed to be used?

Its a field where the model (a (typically unique) identifier) for the product can be stored. You can use this number to search for products. Its for easier identification for your own inventory system and connect it with the zencart database. Its not required to be unique but it is highly recommended that you assign a unique identifier to make it more useful.

If you dont use this information, thats fine as well.

Ok thank you. its kinda like assigning my own product code like a sku number or a isbn number for a book
