Disable product listing on main page

I would like to customize the main page and I need to disable product listing on the page . In place of product listing need add some text . Please help me on where start look for ..

Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Categories - Always Show on Main Page.

Add your text in Tools > Define Pages Editor > define_main_page.php.

I tried that, but it still displays all products on the main page.

What settings do you have in this location...

Ahh thanks for that. I've now found out where the settings are. Someone else said it was on the layout page, but its on the Index Listing page to turn off the product listings.

i.e. the index listing page.

I am upgrading from version g to h. The site I have running now ( https://www.allforms4less.com), is fine, but I what to make several MAJOR changes so upgrading I thought would be the easiest way. PROBLEM: The list of all my products are listing on the main page under our header then my standard layout similar to the site running. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response but this is not the problem I am having. I complete list of all my products are listing under the header bars and before the actual contents of the page. (https://www.allforms4less.com) loads correctly but now that I am trying to upgrade, the demo site loads a list of all the products in text under the word "more" and before all the side panels and main body. I tried to insert an image to better describe my problem but can paste into this format.
