Sales tax not being charged via Paypal

I am running ZenCart 1.38a.

I have made a sale to a UK client. The product is set up as a UK sale subject to UK sales tax. When one checks out (I've tried it) the UK sales tax is added to the total. However, the amount received via PayPal is the NET amount. No sales tax has been added. Tax is set up under Order Total config menus. Prices are displayed net of tax.

Any ideas?

There is another error which may have something to do with this. I am getting a currency mismatch error in the debug info sent to me.

Are these two things related?

I don't see any "currency mismatch" message there.

If you're using PayPal Website Payments Standard, as the above content suggests, then if you have debug mode enabled, you'll get either about 15 emails or 3 files for each transaction. I strongly advise against the emails because they don't get sent "in order", and are all just tiny snippets. Using debug-to-file is much more useful. But, it means you have to actually take the time to grab the log files via FTP.

Good idea I'll stop running the emails - FTP no prob. What about the tax not showing up? What could cause this?

Without seeing full logs, I can't respond.
