When attribute is applied, unit in stock is not updating.

I am new to this and I searched for a related post, but did not find one for this issue.

I have set up two attributes as drop down lists (Size & Color) and added stock to different products.

When I am on the site and I change one or both of the attributes, the units in stock does not change to reflect quantity in stock.

How can I fix this so when a customer changes an attribute on the products page, the Units in Stock changes accordingly?

I am using v1.3.8 and I have installed add-on Stock by Attribute.

Stock is not reduced until the order is complete ...

Check your Stock settings to make sure that it is setup to track stock ...

I may not have been clear enough in my first post (sorry).

Here is an example of the issue:

A customer selects a product (Say a Shirt) and the shirt has two drop down boxes (Size & Color). When the customer selects XL and Black, the units in stock should update with how many XL Black shirts there are in stock.

If the customer than decides (still on the same product page) to switch from a black shirt to a red shirt, the units in stock should update for the XL red shirt.

My issue is the units in stock are not updating when I change the drop down values.

How can I fix this?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Stock is not reduced until the order is complete ...
Additionally, unless you have the Stock by attributes 3rd party module installed, you do not have the ability to enter stock values by size/color
